You decided to play hide and seek with me, but forgot to tell me we were playing.
I felt the solace of your absence but did not call it solace. I just called it, "Everyday life".
I passed by streets and buildings; cars, trains and mops. I passed by bees, tress and trash cans; rocks and rain drops.
Never a sign of you.
But then you whispered to me sweetly, amidst my ordinary din, "Come play, come play. The playground is open, come on in".
"Look not with eyes that imprison with name, but instead gaze with wisdom and play
the freedom game".
And I passed by streets and buildings; cars, trains and mops. I passed by bees, tress and trash cans; rocks and rain drops.
And there, in the midst of it all,
You.

Love scolded me. She said,
"You, You've chosen to unscrew the light bulb and weep about darkness.
You've hidden the banquet and scream about being famished.
You've buried your treasure and bite out of miserliness.
You've clipped your own wings and moan about freedom.
And you've locked yourself in this golden cage, thrown the door shut and lie there, begging for mercy."
Love asks,
"Where is the key?"
Love replies,
"Turn on the lights! Lay out the table! Serve in abundance! There is a great, majestic bird inside of you.
Crawl out of the cage.
The key has always been in your hands."

Maybe the acorn would rather stay locked up inside,
hibernating forever in the warmth of the familiar.
But what majesty comes from the jump into the unknown!
I praise the sprout that reminds me of this.
Inside me there is an oak tree,
waving its mighty branches into the sky.
Fearlessly.

Joy and the Big B Portland, Oregon
Exploring the goodness of this deep, boundless heart through the loving connection of music as its expression. I am but a little atom in this cosmic symphony and this is the humble note I add to the orchestra of Love!
